An inspiring collectible celebrating the birth of the nation. The front of this knife's wood-grain handle frames the 1943 Steel Penny in the stars and stripes of a waving American flag. Issued for just one year at the height of World War II, the 1943 Lincoln steel penny freed up precious copper for America's war effort. It was made from low grade carbon steel, with a zinc coating deposited electrolytically to prevent rusting. The obverse of the steel penny shines in the wood-grain handle. The knife blade is 3" long. A stainless steel blade is not sharpened when shipped. Includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
