Product Details
The Silver Capped Bust Dime was minted in Philadelphia from 1809 to 1837. The Pre Civil War Era Silver coin was designed by John Reich. The obverse design featured a profile bust of Lady Liberty wearing a cap, known as the Freedom Cap, a symbol used in the Revolutionary War. Inscribed on the headband of the cap is the word Liberty. The reverse displays the Eagle with a shield at its breast holding arrows and an olive branch. Above the Eagle's head is the motto E PLURIBUS UNUM. At the base of the reverse is 10 C. representing the first time the denomination was inscribed on the ten cent piece. The Silver Capped Bust Dime is secured in a book style gold portfolio. A Certificate of Authenticity is included.
