The 1982 George Washington Commemorative Silver Half Dollar was the first commemorative half dollar issued since 1954. The .900 silver coin commemorates the 250th birthday of George Washington, a founding father and first president of the United States. The silver proof coin was minted in San Francisco in 1982. The obverse features George Washington on a horse and reverse shows Mount Vernon, Washington's home. The half dollar commemorative was designed by Elizabeth Jones and is securely protected in a sealed acrylic case. The genuine United States silver coin is graded PR67.
